Strap on those boots and put your safari hat on! We're going apartment hunting! or rather, wandering through the city of new york, flabbergasted at sky high apartment prices for shit for bean rooms. Cleanliness is not their middle name and no, there are rarely good deals for this stuff. Alas, I am trying to live on the island of Manhattan relatively close (20 minutes by subway) to the Columbia med campus. If you haven't already gotten the memo and/or haven't talked to me in a couple months, I am going to Columbia's Nutrition masters program for a quick masters and reapplication to medical school. Hence the attempt at finding an apartment in New York.
I did look at a few 1br, studio places but found that they do not even fit my bed and desk comfortably (although i admit that my desk is quite large), for an astronomical price. We'll see how this all works out. My best option right now is to find someone to live with be it my brother or someone else and get a 2 br 1 ba apartment which is going for a decent rate at 113th and 7th. I saw the apartment yesterday and it was the last one I saw for the day. gorgeous in comparison to anything and everything else I saw yesterday. So yea, got roommate?

Found
Through Facebook. We solved the mystery of the wandering roommate. Apparently she was just at a friend's wedding over in California. What I would do to be in California and not studying for my MCATs right now. oh what I would do...
In other news, my job ends on June 30th and afterwards I will be living um.... not large. More like eating TONS of pasta and drinking lots of water to stave off hunger pains. Or maybe just eating lots of frozen food. There's an idea. Better get some frozen peas and carrots soon too. I hear those are good for all the ... wait... they're only good for getting a beating. *shrugs* I suppose the MCATs beat me up enough for me to want peas and carrots. Oh standardized testing, how you abuse me.
Also, I'm moving to New York City in a few weeks and getting an apartment with my bro. Should I be worried? Maybe, but I don't mind right now. I am in for more bullying from ze brother (as in he'll fart in my face or in my room and run away laughing) but it should be better than now, wondering if my roommate will ever talk to me... like ever.
Alrighty, time to get back to stupid online coursework! Toodle-oo!

Headphones
While my roommate is still no-where to be found, she paid the rent for June so I'm going to keep assuming that she is alive somewhere and hopefully well. What she wants to do in her spare time is her own concern. Mine is just that I need someone to pay the other half of the rent.
Anywho, I lost the little earbud piece to my favorite sport headphones (the little white ones that I got at the old Hanover Camera and Audio shop way back when they were going out of business). This is the second time I've lost the earbuds and they cost about 7 to buy a set and replace them. This wouldn't be a problem, but like a fool, I left the corresponding piece at home in michigan the last time I replaced them. Now its between spending another 7 bucks for more ear bud replacements or just using my other headphones which are quite bulky. Mind you, these are the ones I use in the winter when my ears are really cold (I'm too lazy to buy earmuffs). Hmm... Or I could just suffer and use them whilst the weather climbs to uncomfortable heights and humidity.
When did music and headphones become so important to me? No clue, maybe around the time I started working out 5 times a week and I wanted a private sanctuary while walking. What odd-ness. I'm getting back on my work-out schedule so this is why I'm addressing this now, but geebus mcpheebus. Shit like that should be cheaper.
Anywho, back to studying. Life goes on. Talk to you later folks.

Milk Carton
For my roommate. No clue where she is. She mysteriously left yesterday morning and did not show up last night (well didn't come back would be more accurate) that I know of. Her coffee machine has also disappeared and there is little to no food on her side of the fridge. The pots, pans, and dishes are all still here (her contribution to the kitchen) so I am inclined to think that she's on vacation, but still no clue where she is. While we don't get along all that well, disappearing for no apparent reason is a bit weird. At least I tell her when I decide to take trips away... via post-it notes... ^ ^;;
yay dysfunctional roommates! I'm going to go run and get some food now. Staying in my apartment all day is annoying.
